After months of silence, Sony finally revealed the design of its next-generation PlayStation 5 console. Actually, it unveiled two types of PS5, a standard edition and a digital edition with no optical drive.

The PlayStation 5 has a sleek, vertical design overshadowed by white panels on either side sandwiching a curved black interior.

The middle part has what looks like a standard USB-A and a USB-C port on the front along with blue LED lighting and vent holes along the top side.

The PS5 looks to have an amazing library of games, thanks to the innovative technology such as ray tracing.

Sony also made it known that the new advanced SSD speeds could make a huge difference to exclusives games, seeing more densely packed in-game worlds as well as reducing loading times.

PS5 Release Date – When Will PlayStation 5 Come Out?

The PS5 will be launching towards the end of 2020, Sony has confirmed it. We assume this will land in November, ahead of the Christmas period.

We’ll definitely share more updates once we hear more, as it remains unclear whether the Covid-19 pandemic will have a lasting effect on the next-gen console launches.

Will PS5 Games work on PS4?

Sony made it known to us that the PS5 console will be backward compatible with your PS4 games.

According to a post on Wired, the next-gen console won’t be a digital-only machine, it’ll still accept physical media, this is because it’s based on the PS4 architecture.

How Much Is The PS5

According to Bloomberg, the price of PS5 is expected to be between $499-$549 at launch. But based on current exchange rates, that’s around £439 for UK based customers – although it’s likely to be rounded up to £450.

Furthermore, the report assumes that Sony plans to produce 5-6 million PlayStation 5 units by the end of March. Fantastic isn’t it?
