WhatsApp which has been in existence since 2009 and also the most popular messaging app as made it known to its users that it will stop working on some devices from today January 1, 2018. The devices affected include Windows Phone 8.0, Blackberry OS, and Blackberry 10.
This news was gotten via a blog post from Whatsapp blog:
“While these mobile devices have been an
important part of our story, they don’t offer
the kind of capabilities we need to expand our apps features in the feature.
“This was a tough decision for us to make,
but the right one in order to give people better ways to keep in touch with friends, family, and loved once using WhatsApp.
“If you use one of these affected mobile devices, we recommend upgrading to a newer Android phone, iPhone, or windows phone.
This means that users of these affected devices will have to buy a newer version of mobile devices so, they can continue to use this chat app and enjoy new features of this app.
